Red, White, and Black

Spring Break means free time to break out the paints and doodle! Here are some designs I have been thinking about and finally got the chance to try out. Hope you enjoy!

Its a little off, but for painting on myself, I don't think its too bad.

I like the black lines on this one better than the one around my eye.
So this one is different colors, but just had to share this cute guy!

Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup

On this past Sunday, September 12, I had to opportunity to volunteer at the Lake Travis Underwater Cleanup. Although I did not get to pick up any trash, I did get to paint many beautiful faces! Working alongside Keep Austin Beautiful, I got to share my skills to beautify some of the 1000 volunteers who stepped up to cleanup Austin's lakes. It was such a fun event.  Here are some pictures taken by my wonderful boyfriend, Philip.
This was a request that turned out great and was requested several more times!

I need a new camera...

So much has happened since I last posted. I have been working at a summer camp as a counselor and have had the opportunity to face paint every week. Unfortunately, my camera broke early in the summer and I have but a couple of pictures. So these will have to do for now.
The new fall season has brought may openings in my schedule and I am looking for parties and fairs to paint for.

So if you are looking at this blog in reference to an advertisement, please feel free to email me for prices and more information!

Earth Day 2009

Here are some pics from Earth Day 2009 at McKinney Roughs Nature Park. This was my first big event. Thank you Amber for these awesome photos!

This guy fell asleep while I was painting him! ^_^

These girls were all the way from Pennsylvania.

As you can see, butterflies were the hit request!

In the beginning...

First and foremost, I feel it is important to let you know where Doodle Arts by Alecia came from.
Its really quite simple. I love kids. I love to face paint. People were asking me to paint for their events and so I put a name behind it. I haven't made it big or anything, but I have had fun.
I picked the name because it encompassed more than just face painting. I am an artistic person and I love doing all kinds of art. My sisters are the same way, so i made room for them by adding the "by Alecia".

Here are  pictures of some of my first events. This was at a Phi Theta Kappa get-together. It was one of the first times I used my new paints! And they held up. It was a hot day, but the paints did not melt off. I love Paradise by Mehron!
